About the beginner

Hi guys! I'm a P(OR)tland native who loves the rain. I enjoy entertaining, animals, wine and trying new recipes for my friends and family to enjoy. Holiday season is my favorite time of the year. Coming from the PNW, the fall and winter seasons are usually dark and gloomy so when the holidays start to approach, I always look forward to the bright lights and festivities. Baking is a big tradition in a lot of households, mine was not one of those. I admire the people who can bake without looking back at the recipe every step of the way, one day I hope to be one of those people.

When I'm not entertaining and trying new party platters, my boyfriend and 2 dogs (Collin, Roxi & Daisy) enjoy spending time outdoors. During the winter months, you can find us snowboarding on Mount Hood, DIY crafting and catching up on good movies. We spend the drier summer months camping, or as I like to call it "glamping". Cooking comes everywhere with us, there's no need to eat boring while out and about! There is nothing better than enjoying a warm meal for lunch after carving the slopes, and campfire cooking is debatably the best tasting food there is! Oregon also offers some amazing wine, whether in the Willamette Valley or tasting rooms in the Heart of Portland, there are plenty of places to learn the history behind the grapes.

2016 was a huge growing and learning experience for me. I've come to realize that doing what makes you happy makes life a lot more enjoyable! Baking has become one of those things that makes me happy and I want to share my experience with you. Baking has helped me realize that making mistakes is okay, use them as a learning experience. I hope you grow with me along the way and make life a little more positive.
